Parts of Dublin's tram network which were suspended due to a power outage are now running again, although some disruption is continuing.

There were no trams operating on the Green Line during the evening rush hour, after the outage shortly before 17:30 local time.

Additionally, there were no trams running between Smithfield and The Point on the Red Line.

Service was restored at about 19:00 and technicians are working to find the cause of the fault.

Luas said Red Line services were operating normally while the Green Line had a limited service with delays.

Thousands of commuters use the Luas service each evening.

Passengers are advised to allow additional time for travel due to delays, Luas wrote on X, formerly Twitter., external

Luas tickets remain valid on Dublin Bus for the duration of the disruption.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused," the operator added.
