A man stabbed to death in Stoke-on-Trent has been named by police as Thapelo Jali.

The 21-year-old from Stafford, also known as TJ, was found in an alleyway off Buccleuch Road, in the Normacot area, shortly before 01:00 BST on Monday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said he was in a critical condition and despite efforts to save him, he died at the scene.

Four men, aged 20, 23, 26 and 45, all from Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested on suspicion of murder and detectives have been given extra time to interview them.

Staffordshire Police said specialist officers were supporting Mr Jali's family and that extra patrols had been put in place.

Residents who live on Buccleuch Road, Chaplin Road, Windsor Avenue and Hamilton Road have been urged to check CCTV and doorbell cam footage between 22:00 on Sunday and 01:00 on Monday.
