A man has died following a crash between a motorbike and a lorry.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said emergency services were called to the A361 near Frome, Somerset, just before 14:15 BST.

The motorbike rider died at the scene. His next of kin have been notified.

The A361 remains shut in both directions between the Blatchbridge and Marston Road roundabouts.

The spokesperson said the force's "thoughts go out" to the man's family.

"We will ensure they are supported by a specially-trained officer.

"The road is expected to be shut for some time," they added.

Motorists have been urged to avoid the area.

Witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage, is asked to contact police.
