Bath City Farm has reached its fundraising goal of £40,000, helping it remain free to visitors.

The facility in Whiteway offers free services to vulnerable adults, children and people with additional needs.

The farm attracts more than 50,000 visitors a year, but said it needed to fundraise to pay its running costs, which it said in July had "never been higher".

It managed to raise more than £40,000 in just over five weeks, thanks to donations from the public.

The cash has been match-funded by the Aviva Community Fund.

Bath City Farm spokesperson Alison Howell said: "Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, supported, and shared news of our crowdfunder campaign.

"We know that it is a challenging time, so this represents a remarkable achievement.

"The money raised will make a real difference to the Farm and the many hundreds of lives it touches."
