Woman, 86, dies after being struck by van

An 86-year-old woman has died three days after being struck by a van in an Aberdeenshire town.

The accident happened in a car park near Fraserburgh's Albert Street at about midday last Thursday.

The woman - who has been named as Kathleen Reid - was flown by air ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where she died on Sunday.

Police Scotland appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash or had dash-cam footage to contact them, external.

Sgt Dave Cooper said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who has died.

"Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. We are asking anyone who can assist with our investigation who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch."
