People have been evacuated and one person has been decontaminated after an ammonia gas leak.

Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue said six fire engines and crews, who were dressed in hazmat suits, have investigated the incident at an industrial unit on Cockerell Close in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

The service said people had been evacuated from the building, which houses a food produce company, and the leak was contained on the site.

It added one person was decontaminated at the scene.

Hertfordshire Police said they have been on the scene since about 07:00 BST and were managing traffic.
