Hull City Council said the property on Arundel Close had became a focal point for antisocial behaviour

A house which became a "focal point" for drug dealing and nuisance behaviour has been closed for three months.

The council-owned property, on Arundel Close in the Drypool area of the city, has been closed after a closure order was issued.

Hull City Council said it had removed the tenants to "protect neighbours and vulnerable residents" and anyone breaking the ban will be fined or imprisoned.

The authority said a police investigation is underway and it is looking to take back possession of the house to make it available for rent.

Councillor Linda Tock said: "This action shows that we have zero tolerance towards drug dealing and criminal behaviour, and that perpetrators risk losing their homes.

"We will do everything we can to stamp out such nuisance behaviour in our neighbourhoods.

"Residents don’t have to tolerate it," she concluded.
