Two groups are bidding to make Devon a more attractive prospect for the film industry.

Screen Devon and Mid Devon District Council are hosting a free event later this month with the aim of finding locations and services which could support film and TV productions in the region.

Landowners, venues, businesses and communities are being asked to go along to the information event at Coldharbour Mill, Uffculme, on Friday 28 November.

Screen Devon said it was "a priority" to make Devon more welcoming for productions.

Claire Horrocks, manager of Screen Devon, said: "Building upon our progress we want to ensure the whole of Devon have the opportunity to attract film productions and that the benefits are shared across the county."

Councillor Steve Keable, cabinet member for economy and planning, said: "We are inviting businesses, organisations, individuals, groups, landowners and suppliers based in Mid Devon to join us.

"They can discover what being film friendly means and to hear about the benefits of attracting film and TV productions to the area."
