A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a grandfather who was hit by a car in Bradford.

Darrell Dalton, 68, was fatally struck by a vehicle on Little Horton Lane, shortly before midnight on 27 September.

Officers said Essex Police had arrested a suspect on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and that he had subsequently been brought into custody in West Yorkshire.

A 28-year-old man, Robert Nagoda, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and other offences in connection with the incident.

He is next due to appear before Leeds Crown Court on 29 October.

A 20-year-old from Bradford who was also arrested in connection with the collision was interviewed and later released on bail.

In a tribute released following his death, Mr Dalton's daughter said the "hole that has been left by his loss, to his family and friends, is immeasurable".
