The family of a man who died after being hit by a car in Bradford have described him as a "devoted grandad" who will be "forever missed".
Darrell Dalton, 68, from Bradford, died from his injuries after he was struck by a Honda Jazz car on Little Horton Lane just before midnight on Saturday.
Robert Nagoda, 28, of no fixed abode, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and is due to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 29 October.
Mr Dalton's daughter Rebecca said the "hole that has been left by his loss, to his family and friends, is immeasurable".
In a family statement, she said Mr Dalton had been in remission from lung cancer and had wanted to "see his only grandson grow and spend his retirement with his friends and family".
"We can't find the words to truly express the devastation this loss has caused our family and network of friends," she said.
"I will forever miss his stubborn ways and seeing his face light up when he saw his grandson or myself."
Following the crash, Mr Nagonda was also charged with taking a vehicle without consent, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, failing to stop at a scene of a collision, driving without insurance and failing to report a collision.
He appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Wednesday and has been remanded in custody until his crown court appearance.
A 20-year-old man from Bradford was also arrested and released on bail.
Police have asked any witnesses with any information to get in touch.
