Pedestrian dies after being hit by lorry

A pedestrian hit by a lorry in Herefordshire has died.

Emergency services were called to the crash on the A40 in Whitchurch, Ross On Wye, at about 17:40 BST on Wednesday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said a man was being cared for by bystanders when paramedics arrived.

The 49-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the lorry did not require medical attention.

West Mercia Police is appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact the force.
