People in Herefordshire that were affected by flooding from Storm Henk could be eligible for further financial help to protect their homes and business.

The county experienced "significant flooding", which left about 60 homes affected internally, when strong winds and heavy rain hit England and Wales in January.

Herefordshire Council said grants of up to £5,000 were available through the Property Flood Resilience (PRF), external scheme, which aims to help combat homes flooding in future

The funding was available to properties which met the eligibility criteria, external, the council added.

The payments are available to households and businesses damaged by floodwater, or where drying out or repairs to the fabric of the building had been necessary.

Councillor Phillip Price said he wanted to encourage everyone whose property was damaged by flooding in January to take advantage of the grant support.
