A cyclist was threatened with a knife during an altercation with a driver, police have said.

The incident happened at about 20:00 GMT on Friday at the junction of Groundwell Road and York Road near Swindon town centre.

The driver was in a silver Ford Focus and is described as a white man in his mid-30s, about 5ft 8in tall, with a skinny build, scraggly beard and wearing a grey tracksuit.

After the incident, the suspect drove off down York Road, later turning right onto Southampton Street, Wiltshire Police said.

The force is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has dash cam footage from the area around that time to come forward.
