Lancashire Police received reports of anti-social behaviour near Crown Point Ruins

  • Published

Police were called to an illegal rave in woodland in Lancashire after nearby residents complained about struggling to sleep due to the thumping beats.

Lancashire Police said they received repeated reports of people being kept up all night, an assault and discarded nitrous gas canisters being found near the rave by Crown Point Ruins in Burnley.

The force said officers "assessed the events" during the Saturday disturbance and a decision was initially taken "not to take enforcement action for various reasons".

However, the following day officers used powers under the Public Order Act to move people out of the woodland, taking with them their music equipment and vehicles.
