Driver dies after car crashes into tree

A person has died after a car crashed into a tree in Surrey, an ambulance service has said.

Surrey Police said it was called to reports of a single-vehicle crash on Horsham Road in Cranleigh at about 10:15 BST on Thursday.

South East Coast Ambulance Service crews attended the incident and were joined by Air Ambulance Charity Kent, Surrey, Sussex, which arrived by road, but confirmed a person had died at the scene.

The road was closed between Park For Paws and Somersbury Lane, police added.
