The family of a father-of three who died after being discovered seriously injured on a Cardiff street have called him "generous, caring and thoughtful".
James Brogan, 43, was found on Coleford Drive in St Mellons at about 16:00 GMT on 12 November.
A 20-year-old man from the Trowbridge area of the city appeared in court on Tuesday, where he entered not guilty pleas to murder and possession of a bladed article.
A trial date has been set for 19 May.
In a statement Mr Brogan's family said: "He was a deeply loved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and the very proud father of three children."
They added: "James was not perfect and had his faults, as we all do, but if you needed his help he would help you without hesitation and expect nothing in return.
"To us he was generous, caring, thoughtful and a comedian - he loved to make you smile and laugh."
