Hereford Cathedral is set to be illuminated as part of a visiting sound and light show.

Images of space, stars and galaxies will be projected on its walls from Wednesday until Saturday.

Produced by the collective Luxmuralis, organisers said the installation would "explore humanity's ambition to adventure beyond".

The Reverend Sarah Brown, Dean of Hereford, said: "Here we can reflect on earth's beginnings and perhaps its ultimate end in the context of the whole of creation.

"I am excited to welcome you to this great spectacle at Hereford Cathedral as we consider our place in the universe, the extraordinary grandeur and beauty of the cosmos and the miraculous functionality of what gives us life on Earth."

Peter Walker, from Luxmuralis, said the artwork was about reflecting on Earth's history and "about how we take care of our small piece of the universe".
