A 14-year-old girl was seriously injured after being struck by an electric bike, police have said.

It happened as she was walking along Moss Lane, Leyland, at about 19:30 BST on Tuesday.

The initial assessment from the ambulance service was that the injuries were not serious, but she is now believed to have "more significant injuries" and is in hospital, Lancashire Police said.

The bike has been seized and the rider has been reported for a number of driving offences, the force said.
