A man has been arrested after three children and three adults were injured in a suspected hit-and-run, police said.

They were all taken to hospital following the collision in Openshaw at about 20:30 GMT on Tuesday, said Greater Manchester Police (GMP).

A force spokesperson, who appealed for anyone with information about the incident to contact them, said the vehicle involved in the collision on Bob Massey Close had failed to stop.

GMP said a man was later arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, assaulting an emergency worker, failing to stop for police, and possession of drugs with intent to supply.
