A jury has been sworn in for the trial of a man and a woman charged over the death of a four-month-old baby girl.

Melissa Wilband, 28, and Jack Wheeler, 31, both deny the manslaughter of Lexi Wilband in Newent, Gloucestershire, in April 2020.

Ms Wilband, from Newent, and Mr Wheeler, of Ledbury in Herefordshire, also deny causing or allowing her death.

Judge Mr Justice Saini told jurors at Bristol Crown Court earlier that the trial is expected to begin on Tuesday morning, and last for five weeks.
