One of K-pop's biggest bands have said they enjoyed fish and chips in Manchester ahead of performing an "unforgettable" gig in the city.

ENHYPEN played a sold-out show at the AO Arena on Monday as part of the European leg of their Walk the Line tour, with fans queuing from the early hours of the morning.

Jake, one of the seven members in the boy band, said Manchester was "very popular" in South Korea and well known because of football.

He said the seven piece band loved spending time in the city before they took to the stage, adding "we've very honoured and excited to be here".

The band praised fans who were queuing from the early hours of the morning for their "incredible energy" before the show in a post on X, external, adding they "can't wait to come back".

"The energy and the vibe was so amazing... it's such a beautiful city."

Band member Jungwon was also impressed with their first visit to Manchester, describing it as a "dream city with its calm chilled vibe".

Heeseung said their visit to the UK has been "really warm and welcoming".

He added: "Everyone we've met has been so kind and lovely, so it's been such a great experience."

ENHYPEN made their debut in 2020 and the Walk the Line is their third world tour.

Originating in South Korea, K-pop - or Korean pop - is a genre which has grown in popularity over recent years, evolving from a localised genre to a global phenomenon.

K-pop music encompasses a wide range youth culture and musical styles including pop, hip-hop, R&B, electronic dance music and traditional Korean music.

ENHYPHEN are one of the genre's biggest groups, following in the footsteps of Blackpink, BTS, PSY and Twice.
