Italian ambassador attends meetings in Guernsey
- Published
The Italian ambassador to the United Kingdom has visited Guernsey this week.
Inigo Lambertini has been in post since October 2022 and it was his first official visit to the island.
While in Guernsey, the ambassador met Chief Minister Lyndon Trott, as well as other members of the Policy and Resources Committee, the Committee for Economic Development and the Committee for Home Affairs.
The States of Guernsey said meetings involving him were centred around the island’s current priorities, including financial services and the economy, environmental initiatives and green finance.
The ambassador said: "I am honoured and flattered by the warm reception upon my arrival and during meetings in Guernsey.
"There is a window of opportunity to foster ties between Italy and Guernsey, from financial cooperation to cultural relations, thanks also to the support of the local Italian community in the island."
