Communities across Surrey will come together this weekend to mark Remembrance Sunday, honouring those killed in war.

At war memorials across the county, crowds are expected to gather for ceremonies as wreaths are laid and silences held in tribute to the fallen.

There are also a number of annual parades in towns and villages, followed by services at local churches.

We have rounded up some of the events happening this year.

In Guildford, a service will be held at Holy Trinity Church, starting shortly before 10:00 GMT.

This follows the laying of flowers under the VC stones in Tunsgate by the Mayor of Guildford and other dignitaries.

After the service, the parade will form at about 10:30 on Guildford High Street, led by the Friary Brass band.

At the castle grounds at 11:00, the two-minute silence will be marked by the sounding of The Last Post and laying of wreaths.

In Camberley, the Royal British Legion Remembrance Parade will be held with the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, along with local cadet and uniformed groups, at 15:00.

The procession will begin at St Michael's Church and proceed along London Road to the War Memorial, where a wreath-laying ceremony will take place.

Following the ceremony, the procession will continue onto Park Street.

'Inspiring and evocative'

Remembrance Sunday services will be held at Shaw's Corner War Memorial in Redhill and at Banstead War Memorial, followed by a parade from The Horseshoe to the War Memorial.

Jubilee Square in Woking town centre will host the borough's Festival of Remembrance.

A combined choir of the Woking Ladies Choir and Salvation Army Band will sing hymns and the National Anthem at a remembrance service.

The Last Post will be performed by a representative from the Salvation Army Band, before a parade by uniformed units and organisations.

In Ashford, Spelthorne, the Royal British Legion will hold its annual service in the Memorial Gardens, where veterans will join the Mayor of Ashford and other dignitaries in the Garden of Remembrance.

A Concert for Remembrance Sunday is being held from 19:00 at St Michael's Church on Old London Road, Mickleham.

Billed as "inspiring and evocative", it will feature music from the Mozart Requiem plus contemporary works and readings to mark the occasion.
