Three businesses in the same retail park have announced their immediate closure.

The trampoline park Flip Out, The Terrace bar, and the roller-skating nightclub Twisterz, all formerly based in the Rushden Lakes shopping centre, confirmed their shutdown on Monday via social media.

In a joint statement, a spokesperson for the businesses said: "It is with regret that The Terrace Rushden Lakes will cease trading on the 16th of September 2024."

"We are so grateful for your support and loyalty over the past five years and are very sad to see it all coming to an end."

A former employee stated that staff were informed of the closure via the company app on Monday afternoon.

The news came as a "surprise", leaving employees "angry" about the "last-minute" notification, they said.

Rushden Lakes and the businesses have been contacted for comment.

The UK operator of TGI Fridays, which has a branch in the same section of the closed businesses at Rushden Lakes, has gone into administration.

A total of 87 of the chain's restaurants have been put up for sale as owner Hostmore, a hospitality company, struggles with debt and heavy losses.
