A man has appeared in court charged with killing a man found dead on a Lincolnshire street.

Vadims Zmicerevskis, 45, died after an incident at the junction of Green Lane and St Thomas' Road in Spalding on Monday, police said.

Viktors Zeglovs, 33, of no fixed abode, was charged with Mr Zmicerevskis' murder during an appearance at Lincoln Magistrates' Court.

No plea was entered during the hearing and Mr Zeglovs was remanded in custody to appear before Lincoln Crown Court on Thursday.

A 47-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of affray has been bailed pending further investigations, Lincolnshire Police said.

The force added that the three men were believed to have known each other and investigators were not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.

Detectives are appealing for information and any CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage of the area.

Insp Matt Dickinson said: "Members of the Neighbourhood Policing Team attended the scene within minutes of receiving the call to the force control room.

"We initiated CPR but very sadly, Mr Zmicerevskis was pronounced dead shortly after emergency crews arrived."
