Plans to turn a building in Bradford into accommodation for actors performing at the Alhambra Theatre have been approved.

A planning application was submitted for a house of multiple occupancy on Lansdowne Place, off Morley Street, to be converted into temporary accommodation for up to seven people.

The building, originally a large home, has also been a shop and a tattoo parlour.

Applicants the Actors' House Ltd said the move would contribute to the city's "economy and cultural vibrancy", with the application approved by planning officers.

Seven en-suite rooms will be created, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, along with a communal kitchen and living space.

The application said: "The proposed change of use to short-term hotel lets for actors performing at the Alhambra Theatre represents a positive and sustainable development.

"It will contribute positively to the local economy and cultural vibrancy of Bradford."
