A man in his 80s has been assaulted and had his £13,000 Rolex watch stolen after thieves smashed their way into his home at the weekend.
Three masked men broke in through the back door of the property on Cromwell Road, Cheltenham, at about 23:00 BST on Sunday.
They assaulted the man, leaving him with minor injuries, after he chased them outside, Gloucestershire Police said.
A spokesperson added: "The watch has sentimental value to the victim after it was given to him for his military service. [We] would like to hear from anyone who may have been offered [it]."
Along with the silver Rolex watch, the man's wallet containing cash and bank cards was also stolen during the burglary.
A force spokesperson said: "The man heard the sound of someone breaking into his house [and] was able to chase them outside where he was assaulted."
The man's neighbour raised the alarm.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
