Man who died after serious assault named

A man who died in hospital a day after being discovered with serious injuries has been named by police.

John Bain, 60, was discovered at an address in Willingale Road, Loughton, Essex, at about 22:20 BST on Wednesday, after officers were called to reports of a serious assault.

His family have paid tribute to “beautiful and kind-hearted soul” who will be "sadly missed by us all".

Georgia Wildman, 30, of Mornington Road, Loughton, has been charged with murder and appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court earlier.

Mr Bain was taken to hospital following the assault, but died on Thursday, said Essex Police.

In a statement, his family said: “Our brother, John, will be remembered by us all as a beautiful and kind-hearted soul.

“He was known as Johnny to his friends and family. He will be sadly missed by us all.

“Fly high Johnny, we love you.”

Detectives continue to appeal for information about the incident.
