Man charged in village murder investigation

A suspect has been charged with murder after a man was stabbed in a village in Kent.

Officers were called to a report of a disturbance in The Street, Boughton-under-Blean, near Faversham, at 22:40 GMT on Wednesday.

A man in his 30s was found with injuries consistent with a stabbing and was pronounced dead at the scene, Kent Police said.

William Cosier, 33, has been charged with murder and possession of a knife in a public place.

Mr Cosier, of Well Lane, Canterbury, was remanded in custody to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

Three other men, aged between 37 and 42, were arrested in connection with the incident and have been bailed, pending further investigation, police said.

Two men, aged 31 and 43, who were also detained have been released without charge.

The force are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information, CCTV or dashcam footage to contact them.
