A section of the A30 in Cornwall will be closed for roadworks from 20:00 BST on Friday until 06:00 BST on Monday.

The closure would be in place to allow National Highways' teams to safely continue surfacing and infrastructure work, managers said.

The company said it was in the final stages of a dualling upgrade to the A30, and would be carrying out the series of closures between Scorrier and Boxheater.

Drivers have been urged to plan ahead, avoid unnecessary travel and follow the diversion routes and signage in place.

Further closures have been planned for the A30, including 17-20 May, where it would be a weekend closure between Chiverton and Boxheater, project leaders said.

Overnight closures are also planned from 3-6 June between Chiverton and Mitchell.

However, National Highways said that motorists should keep a watch for possible updates as dates and locations were subject to change.
