Icy, freezing conditions continued across much of the West Midlands with some seeing temperatures drop to -9C (15F) overnight.

The UK is braced for sub-zero temperatures until the weekend when the weather is set to dramatically change.

Weather warnings for wind have been issued for the whole of the region starting at 06:00 GMT on Sunday and lasting until 06:00 on Monday.

Many places are likely to see southwesterly winds gust to around 50-60 mph and gusts may reach 60-70 mph in exposed locations, said the Met Office.

Photographs taken by BBC Weather Watchers showed wintry conditions around the West Midlands.
