Finance leaders from Guernsey showcased the island's sustainable finance successes to King Charles III when he visited the bailiwick on Tuesday.
The King learned about Guernsey's role as an innovator in sustainable finance from a delegation of industry experts.
He heard about a range of sustainable finance initiatives such as sustainable energy, housing the Sustainable Markets initiative during meeting, which was organised by Guernsey Finance.
Rupert Pleasant, chief executive of the organisation, said it was the "honour of a lifetime" to speak to the King about "Guernsey’s credentials as a global leader in sustainable finance".
The Sustainable Markets Initiative, also known as the Terra Carta, was launched by the King in 2021 when he was Prince of Wales.
It sets out enable the private sector to speed up work to reach global targets to tackle climate change and preserve biodiversity.
Mr Pleasant said: "As the founder of the Sustainable Markets Initiative, and someone who has championed the fight against climate change and biodiversity loss for many decades, the King is extremely knowledgeable in this area."
The King also met with the island's financial services regulator to hear about the Guernsey Green Fund and Natural Capital Fund, which are both world firsts in environment finance, business leaders said.
