Pictures featuring mixed-heritage Cardiff families in the early 1900s have been unearthed.

The portraits, taken by a Danish photographer Fred Petersen, are part of a permanent art installation at Glamorgan Archives.

Almost all of the people, who were photographed at a studio in Bute Street in 1910, remain unidentified despite the best efforts of archivists.

The pictures were purchased by Glamorgan Archives in 1972 for £5 but have only recently been rediscovered.

The images will appear alongside prints of present-day Cardiff residents at the archives in the Leckwith area of the city.
