A 9-year-old boy has had his first full-length book published.

Nathan Eze from Coventry, who started drawing and telling stories in nursery, said that seeing the published book was "amazing".

The book, called Ruby, Don't Lie! tells the story of a girl who keeps lying to her parents.

"If you lie, and they realise, they might not trust you anymore," said Nathan, explaining why the book's message is important.

Nathan has previously had poems and short stories shared in magazines, anthologies and on radio, but this is his first full-length book.

"He has the gift," said Adeola Eze, Nathan's mother.

"His love for writing came from reading a lot of books... reading is very important."

The book was released on Amazon today, which happens to be both World Book Day and Nathan's birthday.

For World Book Day, Nathan said he wanted to dress up as Horrid Henry, his favourite character from another book.

Other inspirations include Roald Dahl and Nathan's own mother, who is herself a published author.

On why he loves Roald Dahl, Nathan said that he likes "how funny they make the stories".

Nathan told the BBC that he already has ideas for his next book: Ruby, Don't Be Naughty.

He hopes that his story will inspire other young writers.
