A man who was killed in a crash on a busy Birmingham road had "so many dreams" his wife has said.

Hizar Hanif, 31, was a passenger in a stationary car when the driver of an Audi hit the vehicle on Soho Road on Sunday.

A 25-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released under police investigation.

Mr Hanif, who had a young son, was described by his wife as someone who "went above and beyond for his family and friends".

"Hizar was the most driven and passionate person I knew," she wrote in a tribute released by police, adding he was loved by everyone.

"He accomplished so much in the little time he was given and made the most of life.

"He had so many dreams, so much more he wanted to accomplish, but his chapter sadly came to an end."

His wife said the couple had travelled the world, created memories and "laughed endlessly".

'One of a kind'

"He is survived by his distraught son, who will make daddy proud," she added.

"His cute little laugh and the way he made me feel safe and loved, Hizar was truly one of a kind.

"I'm writing this while I am clutching his Baccarat smelling hoody and praying I never forget his voice or his smell."

A woman who was also injured in the crash remains in a serious condition in hospital, police said.
