An adult football tournament will be held on Sunday in aid of the Mayor of Guildford's cancer charity.

The six-a-side event starts at 10:00 BST at Stoughton Recreation Ground, in Fentum Road, Guildford.

Money raised from the tournament will go to the Fountain Centre, which supports cancer patients and relatives through the diagnosis process.

Guildford mayor Masuk Miah, who is backing the charity, said: “Even if football's not your game, there's something for everyone to enjoy."

All the teams will be competing for the Mayor's Cup and Mayor's Plate

Chelsea FC Foundation will be on hand to help put footballers through their paces.

There will be a BBQ, Indian food and beer tent, plus activities for kids including a fire engine, face panting and bouncy castle.

Cllr Miah describes the tournament as an opportunity for friendly competition.

He said: "It also allows us to come together as a community and make a positive impact for a great cause."
