New location for Jersey Christmas light switch on

Christmas lights in Jersey's town centre will be switched on at a new location to mark the beginning of the festive shopping season.
There will be live entertainment and the opportunity to see Santa's sleigh at the Christmas Light Switch On event in St Helier from 17:00 GMT before the parade starts at 19:15 GMT on Thursday.
The parade will make its way down the High Street, through Charing Cross and end at Parade Gardens where the Christmas Village will be offering stalls of food, drink and gifts.
Town centre manager Connor Burgher said the event, which had annually been held at the Weighbridge, would be one "not to be missed".
He said: "We are excited to be holding the Christmas light switch on event in a completely new location this year.
"This will allow us to provide an even bigger and better show than ever before.
"We hope you will join us in marking the official start of Christmas in St Helier."
The Christmas lights will be switched on at 20:00 GMT alongside a short firework display.
