There are called for the government to regulate the island's gas company.
Jersey Consumer Council (JCC) said Island Energy should be regulated to prevent sharp rises in people's bills.
Gas prices in Jersey are set to rise by 7.5% on 16 January, which will see an increase of about £9.53 a month for an average household.
Island Energy said "geopolitical events across Europe" were the reason for changes in gas prices.
Carl Walker, from the JCC, said it was another blow for consumers at the time of year when energy usage is at its highest.
He said: "The same energy provider [is] Island Energy which provides the gas for Jersey also provides the gas for the Isle of Man.
"Now, the Isle of Man, they've got a regulator who regulates their industry and other industries and they have forced Island Energy to bring their prices down by nearly 14% from the 1st January."
Island Energy said people could register for a priority care scheme if they were struggling.
