Hundreds of dogs have enjoyed a swim at a city's outdoor pool.

More than 250 attended the sessions at Peterborough Lido, on Bishop's Road, on Sunday and Monday.

Vivacity, which operates the pool, said it was the third annual dog swim at the venue due to "popular demand".

Despite the cold weather, Bucky, a cockapoo, came for his first swim with his owner Laura Roe, who said "it was worth it".

Lindsey Holt, who brought her labradoodle Ziggy, said: "We thought this was a great opportunity to come into a proper pool where he could really learn to swim."

Claire Smith, from Vivacity, said the dog swim had grown very popular.

"From April onwards, we get people asking for it, so there's definitely a demand there and you can see, certainly, the owners enjoy it as well," she said.

The lido is now closed for a deep clean in preparation for next season.
