Police are investigating after an early morning break in at a new Co-op store.

Suffolk Police was called to Hicks Close in East Bergholt, shortly after 05:00 GMT.

Two people, dressed in black, were reported to have smashed the front door of the store before making off with a quantity of cigarettes, police said.

Photos from the scene show a police car and officers, along with a cordon around the shop entrance. The new store opened on a new housing estate in the summer, replacing the smaller Co-op on The Street.
