The family of a woman who died after being hit by a car have said she will be "sadly missed".

Officers were called to a report of a crash between a blue Vauxhall Meriva and a pedestrian on Milford Road, Lymington at 13:54 BST on Tuesday.

Dianne Roebuck, 77, who was a resident of the town, passed away at the scene.

Her family said she would be "sadly missed by her husband, daughters, grandchildren and other members of her family".

Hampshire Constabulary said a 60 year-old woman, also from Lymington, had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

She has been released on bail while enquiries continue, the force said.

Ms Roebuck's family paid tribute to her: "It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Dianne Roebuck, who died unexpectedly on 27 August at the age of 77.

"She will be sadly missed by her husband, daughters, grandchildren and other members of her family."

Police have appealed to anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision to get in touch.
