Work is beginning on a town's pothole-ridden roads under a £3.75m council plan to tackle a backlog of repairs.
Nineteen roads will be shut temporarily in Swindon, Wiltshire, for the improvements, which will be carried out from this week until December.
The work will also include patching repairs, refreshing road markings and maintenance on traffic lights.
Chris Watts, of Swindon Borough Council, said: "This progress is only possible thanks to the additional funding we received from central government earlier this year. But we know there's still more to do."
The work forms part of the council's annual major and minor road resurfacing programme.
The roads being improved include the entrance routes to the Orbital Shopping Park, Kingswood Avenue, Pewsham Road, Hay Lane, Wilcot Avenue, Beech Avenue and Shrivenham Road.

Mr Watt said: "Our teams have already delivered excellent results this year, and we're on track to complete more repairs on our highways than we did in 2024/25.
"And we're not stopping here. We're already planning the next phase of works, with more details to be shared in 2026."
