A fire that destroyed the roof of a house was caused by a log burner, investigators have found.

More than 50 firefighters were called to the blaze in Plastow Green, North Hampshire on Wednesday at about 04:00 GMT.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue (HIWFRS) said crews arrived to find the roof of the home engulfed by fire.

The fire service said nobody was hurt in the blaze, and an investigation found "the cause was the log burner".

At its peak, eight fire engines, two water carriers, and a range of specialised vehicles attended the scene.

The fire service said crews made every effort to save items from the home.
