Eight transport services have been given a new look by Transport for London (TfL) to mark its 25th anniversary.

A tram, a zero-emissions bus, and a Jubilee line train are among the services to have received the new look, marking moments such as the launch of the Oyster card in 2003 and the opening of the Elizabeth line in 2022.

The other modes of transport to feature the new design are a DLR train, IFS Cloud Cable Car cabin, Elizabeth line train, London Overground train, and taxi.

The specially-designed vehicles will remain on the network until at least the end of 2025.

A close-up of the side of a sky-blue coloured bus. The focus of the image is the cartoon drawing of two women, one of whom is in a dark blue wheelchair. The woman in a wheelchair is wearing white cowboy boots, a white dress, a bright pink jacket, and a pink cowboy hat, and has short black hair. The other woman is walking just behind her, has long black hair, and is wearing black boots, blue jeans, a white top, a pink cowboy hat, and a pink feather boa. A white Transport for London roundel is integrated into the design to represent a wheelchair ramp. On the left of the design, just below one of the bus windows, there is writing reading: "2005 All buses become wheelchair accessible. Enabling more people to cross London to see friends, family or their favourite gig.". One of the wheels of the bus is beneath the design on the right hand side.Image source, TfL

TfL was created on 3 July 2000 as part of the Greater London Authority and these new designs mark key moments in the quarter century since then.

London's entire fleet of buses became fully wheelchair-accessible in 2005, TfL kept the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics moving, and the Night Tube was launched in 2016.

Seb Dance from City Hall said the anniversary was a "great opportunity to reflect on how much our transport network has evolved and transformed in recent years".

The network has also invited Londoners to share their photos and memories of the transport network from the past 25 years, to be displayed on TfL's social media and in some stations.

Other events to mark the anniversary include a photography exhibition, and a poster design competition.

The bus is coloured in a gradient design, and is a darker, purple-blue at the bottom before fading to a light sky blue at the top. The bus is driven by a man in a blue shirt. Andy Lord, London's transport commissioner, said London's transport network had played an integral part in the city's growth.

"We're excited to launch these special designs across a number of our services for the first time to mark the occasion, while also looking ahead to the next 25 years."
