Rail services between Crowborough and Uckfield in East Sussex have been suspended until Tuesday, because of a fault with the signalling system.

Network Rail said its engineers were using specialist equipment to find the fault along a 19-mile (30.5km) stretch of cable.

In a statement it said: "The sheer length of the cable and the terrain in which it is situated is making this challenging and taking longer than hoped."

Replacement buses are being run, with some passengers having to use an alternative route, adding 30 minutes to journey times.
