Somerset Live reports that the famous Jolly's department store is to close early next year. The shop is one of Europe's oldest department stores, and is owned by Bath and North East Somerset Council.

The council says plans with a new occupier are at "an advanced stage", but hasn't said what will happen to the building.

Meanwhile, a popular pub on the A38 in Bristol is closing at the end of the year, according to Bristol World. The online site reports the building could be turned into housing.

And in Gloucestershire, there's a warning to pupils at Bournside School in Cheltenham after reports of a man acting suspiciously near the building, according to Gloucestershire Live.

Finally, Swindon Court Court jailed a man after he entered a woman's home through a window and raped her twice while her children were in the property, reports the Swindon Advertiser.
