A police officer has pleaded guilty to drink driving at a hearing at Bradford Magistrates' Court.

Abdul Iqbal, 29, of Russel Street in Dewsbury, was stopped in the Calder Grove area of Wakefield with 66 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres in his system.

He also pleaded guilty to not providing driver identification on 5 August.

Mr Iqbal is due to appear again at Bradford Crown Court on 16 December.

A second serving officer unrelated to Mr Iqbal also appeared in court earlier.

Aisha Iqbal, 27, of Buxton Place, Wakefield, is charged with conspiring to pervert the course of justice between 17 May 2023 and 31 October 2023.

Ms Iqbal did not have a solicitor representing her, but indicated she would enter a not guilty plea.

She will also appear at Bradford Crown Court on 16 December.

Both officers have been suspended from duty.
