The owner of a dog that bit an 11-year-old girl in Stamford has been asked to contact police.

She suffered a serious injury to her wrist after being attacked by a Staffordshire bull terrier-type dog at about 09:30 BST on Thursday on Recreation Road, said Lincolnshire Police.

A force spokesperson said: "We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who can provide information about the dog itself. We would urge the owner of the dog to get in touch."

CCTV footage of the incident is also sought, said police.
