Northumbria Police are still looking for more than a dozen people they wish to speak to in connection with the riot in Sunderland

Police are still searching for 14 people they wish to speak to in connection with a riot which broke out in a city centre last month.

The disruption took place in Sunderland on 2 August, following the stabbing of three young girls in Southport at the end of July.

"A string of people" have been charged, and 21 offenders convicted for their actions during the riots, Northumbria Police said.

The force has issued images of the 14 people officers wish to identify.

"They are all believed to have been in the Sunderland city centre area around the time of the disorder, and officers believe they could have information which may assist the investigation," a police spokesperson said.

Northumbria Police said those pictured in the images, or anyone who recognises them, should contact the force.
