Pedestrian injured in crash dies in hospital

A pedestrian who was seriously injured when he was hit by a car in Halifax has died in hospital.

Police said Darrell Hanson, known as Bobby, died on Saturday from injuries he suffered in the crash on 19 September.

The 54-year-old was hit by a grey BMW 316 at about 22:20 BST on Gibbet Street at the junction with Churn Lane.

A man, 68, arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving whilst over the prescribed drug limit, remained on bail, West Yorkshire Police said.

Mr Hanson's family said in a tribute: "Darrell was a much-loved son, husband, father, grandfather and brother.

"He was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed."

Police asked anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.
